It’s almost that time of the year again! Exam season is creeping up upon us, and students all over the country have automatically been filled with dread. The Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) is one such exam that is dawning on us, set to take place in the first week of May. Here to help you are some tips and tricks to get through the exam peacefully and pressure-free!

SET 2020 Tips

Taking any test or exam comes with the added baggage of stress and pressure. The tips below should help alleviate some of the nervousness, and hopefully, turn a stressful situation into a cakewalk!

Understand the Syllabus

It is extremely important for you as a student to have a clear and thorough understanding of the syllabus. This will allow you to identify your strengths and divide your exam accordingly.

Make Your Own Notes

Making your notes will help you remember the subject matter better, and allow you to refer to these notes for revision later. Making use of cards or mind maps enables easy revision and ensures the subject matter stays strong in your memory.

Know the Pattern

Ensure you go through sample tests, past tests,and mock exams to truly understand the nature of the exam and how you can about attempting it. This. Will also allow you to understand the type of questions asked, and will enable you to study better.

Time Management

Going through past exams and questions helps you understand how much time you will spend on each section and how fast you can finish the exam. It is important to have an idea of how much time you can spend on each section, so that you have ample time to answer every question, and the paper is not left incomplete!

Solve Past Papers

Solving past exams is an underrated practice, and should be done before the exam. It helps you understand the time you will take, how the questions will be phrased, and where your weaknesses lie so you can work on them.

Don’t Leave It To The Last Minute

As much as we enjoy procrastinating, ensuring that you have started studying well in advance is always handy. Make a timetable for you to follow and ensure you stick to it. Multiple revisions only make the knowledge of the subject matter stronger!

Sleep. Well!

Sleeping well and giving your brain the rest it needs is of utmost importance before any exam. Don’t stress, study well, and ensure you’re awake and fresh to give an exam, and not groggy and hyper!

Expected SET 2020 Schedule

Online registration is expected to commence in the 4th week of January, and end in the 3rd week of April. The application fee is Rs. 1750 for each test. The application form will be available online.

Once you have successfully registered for the exam, the admit card will be available to download online and will be issued in the fourth week of April.

The examination dates have not been confirmed yet. However, they are set to begin in the 1st week of May, with the Law (SLAT) / Design (SEED) scheduled to be from 9:30 am to 12 noon, and the Engineering (SITEEE) / General (SET) to take place from 2:30om to 5:00 pm.

After the exam, the answer key will be released, with the result being released in the 2nd week of may itself. Universities will release the cut off as soon as the result is released. Qualified students can then apply for a counselling session.
